In short, it doesn’t have to be me.
As a relative newcomer to the cult of k-beauty, there’s a lot I don’t know. I have absolutely no beauty credentials aside from a makeup artist certification, my shopping addiction and credit card statement that backs it up. You have no reason to believe anything I say. However, I’m a highly opinionated person and fairly resourceful, if I do so myself.
I’m fortunate in that I’ve always had decent skin. Not perfect. Not even close. Semi-regular and mostly hormonal break outs from time to time, but who hasn’t experienced those? It wasn’t until a few years ago that I started noticing the fine lines, small bumps and redness. Around the same time, I discovered Laneige via an Ambien fueled online shopping binge on Target. That awakened me to the burgeoning global Asian-beauty trend.
As anyone who knows me would tell you, I am nothing if not full of opinions [and almost completely lacking in fact]. I personally think that is a national trait for most Koreans: we are a culture of know-it-alls. So that’s where this blog comes in. At the very least, whether you’re laughing with me or laughing at me, I hope you find your own inspiration, here with the SKINista.
